The Royal Central School of Speech and Drama is looking to recruit a specialist practitioner in Theatre Sound, with experience in theatre sound design and engineering, to lead and teach the Sound provision in the BA (Hons) Theatre Practice degree programme and promote an understanding of sound across the School and beyond.
The ideal candidate will have held a senior position of responsibility within a medium or large-scale producing venue or productions and have experience of working within higher education, including both teaching and assessing.
You will be expected to represent the School on the UK Association of Sound Designers and develop the continual exchange of knowledge between the School and professional theatre practice, both discipline-specific and encouraging widening participation and inclusivity. You will be expected to develop a personal scholarship or research enquiry and profile.
You will contribute to the development of the art of theatre sound by bringing professional practice into dialogue with international research in the sonic arts and sound studies and training the students who will shape the way theatre sounds in the future.
