Applications are invited for the above post in the Faculty of Science & Engineering which is one of the newest divisions at the University but is expected to become one of the biggest as the University rolls out its detailed, long term plans. The first intake of UNNC engineering students graduated in 2014. The University expects to triple its number of engineering students to over 2,000 within the next few years.

The successful candidate will be expected to contribute to teaching and curriculum development for programmes in chemical engineering at the undergraduate and postgraduate levels and to supervise student research up to the PhD level. The person appointed will be expected to conduct original research for obtaining research funding and quality publication, play an active role in collaborative research projects, and contribute to admin work of the department.

Candidates must have a PhD degree in chemical engineering or a closely related discipline, and excellent communication and presentation skills in English. Knowledge and experience of industrial design and process safety are essential. Experience of supervising student research up to the PhD level, and experience of teaching, tutorial or laboratory work at undergraduate and/or postgraduate levels in an English speaking institution are preferable.

Salary will be within the range RMB411,197 – RMB541,469 per annum depending on skills and experience (salary progression beyond this scale is subject to performance). This post is available from 1 September 2020 and will initially be offered on a fixed-term contract with the University of Nottingham Ningbo China for a period of one year.
