The expansion of the Mass Communications suite of programmes at Edinburgh Napier means that our programme team is growing. We are looking to appoint a 0.5fte Lecturer who will be responsible for contributing to our Mass Communications suite, with a teaching/research specialism in advertising and public relations.

The BA (Hons) Mass Communications, Advertising & Public Relations programme has been running, under different degree names, continuously for over 25 years (existing as a HND and an Ordinary degree prior to that). The degree programme has been an Approved Programme by the Chartered Institute of Public Relations for over 10 years and is also accredited by the Public Relations and Communications Association. We are a top 5 UK modern university for Communication and Media Studies (2nd of 55) - Complete University Guide 2020. We are looking to appoint an exceptional Lecturer with a doctorate and significant industry experience, and demonstrable recent teaching expertise. You will have an innovative and collaborative approach to teaching and research and be able to demonstrate expertise across mass communications with a specialism in advertising and public relations.
If successful, you will be working with a small and highly dedicated Mass Communications team to develop, design and deliver high-quality, student-centred teaching and learning, which reflects our focus on professional communication, our research expertise and our international outlook.
This will involve teaching, supporting and assessing students, supervising Mass Communications projects and dissertations, contributing to curriculum planning and development, and engaging in research and scholarly activity.
Who we are looking for
You will hold a doctoral level qualification with demonstrable experience within a professional or industrial standing.
