The School is closely linked with the University’s Research Centres in Arts Memory & Communities and Post-digital Cultures, as well as the Institute for Future Transport and Cities and the National Transport Design Centre. 

The Deputy Head reports to the Head of School, to drive forward the School’s contribution to the University’s Corporate Plan, assuming lead responsibility for the School’s day-to-day operational management and requirements. You will support the Head in representing the School internally and externally, and implementing policies and procedures at School level. You will liaise closely with the Associate Heads of School and other school staff to support the school’s aims. You will oversee staff and resource management and ensure colleagues receive the training and development and they need. 

This role will require a PhD (or an equivalent level of professional standing alongside a postgraduate qualification in a relevant subject), and have experience in a relevant subject area, with a track record of academic excellence and innovative.
