The Finance, Planning and Data Insight section is responsible for managing the University's income and expenditure, ensuring we get value for money in all financial activity and that we comply with all statutory and regulatory requirements. Our responsibility extends to the collection and sharing of information and understanding to help the University achieve its strategic aims.
The Planning and Data Insight team sits within the Finance, Planning and Data Insight section alongside Financial Planning and Analysis, Finance Risk and Compliance, Accounting and Capital, Income and Payments, Internal Audit and the Central Procurement Unit
Duties of the post
The post of Planning and Data Insight Assistant is a great opportunity to join this high performing team, supporting decision making processes, annual student number planning, data quality management and monitoring of performance and the achievement of Strategic Plan objectives.
You will help ensure the team provides a good service by managing and responding to incoming queries and requests for information, and by liaising and communicating with colleagues across the University. You will undertake data analysis, create new reports using Tableau (as required) and enhance existing reports. In addition, you will support the process for student number planning and work with the team on improving the quality of our student data for statutory reporting purposes.
Skills and qualifications required
In the role of Planning and Data Insight Assistant, you will need a good level of numeracy and analytical skills, excellent planning and organisational skills, an aptitude for problem solving and tackling complex challenges, and experience of data analysis and report development.
