We are looking for an Education Manager to offer maternity leave cover. You will be responsible for the management and co-ordination of the School’s Education portfolio, working with the Director of Education, Director of PGT Studies, Director of PGR Studies, Director of UG Education of the School of Public Health and the School Manager.

Your role will include line management of the education administration team in the School, providing high-level support for the School’s education activities.

Duties and Responsibilities:

You will take on a major role in the continued development of priority education / teaching strategies, which include i) the on-going development and expansion of blended / mixed-mode delivery of on-campus Masters provision, ii) the on-going developments of the fully online education provision namely the online Global Master of Public Health and related partnership management with Coursera, iii) preparation for the new teaching site and School of Public Health building in White City.

There will be considerable liaison with academic, managerial and administrative staff across the School, the Faculty and College, as well as with external organisations and partners, namely Coursera for the fully online Global Master of Public Health.

You will work closely with the programme teams regarding strategy, portfolio development, resourcing, teaching operations: ensuring continuity across the provision and the highest quality student experience to ensure the smooth running of development and consistency of approach and quality.

Your excellent education management skills will be put to use as you:

  • Manage the School’s education administration / support team in the delivery of its portfolio of programmes and activities at postgraduate research, postgraduate taught (on-campus and online) and undergraduate level;
  • Support the Director of Education, the Director of Postgraduate Taught/Research/UG Public Health Education in the development and implementation of the School’s education strategy, policies and procedures;
  • Manage the partnership with Coursera, and where needed third party vendors, for the Global Master of Public Health ;
  • Collaborate with the College’s Digital Learning Hub and other Faculty Ed Tech Labs regarding online / digital education and manage operations, resourcing and developments pertinent to the School of Public Health / Global Master of Public Health.


You will need an excellent level of education (minimum degree level or equivalent experience), plus extensive experience within a high-level, lead / management role in higher education student administration / operations.

Experience of management within an education setting for an online degree programme or online / digital teaching is also desired.

You should have excellent knowledge of University-level education policies and frameworks and be able to utilise your project management skills and techniques to manage projects within scope and according to deadlines. Ideal candidates must have proven expertise in the use of spreadsheet programmes, preferable Microsoft Excel.

This role is a maternity leave cover role for a period of 12 months.

The post is full-time and fixed term starting ideally in mid-August. The post will be based at the St Mary’s Campus, Paddington, with travel to other campuses required when needed, plus options for flexible working.
