We are looking for a Post doc Epidemiologist.

The Opportunity:

SEBI-Livestock is now seeking a highly motivated and experienced candidate for the post of Quantitative Veterinary Epidemiologist to provide leadership and support in the development and implementation of SEBI’s scope of activities in collecting, analysis and publication of livestock related evidence and data. The post holder will also provide epidemiological and statistical support and advice within the SEBI team and work with the Data Quality Manager and other colleagues to develop best practice in SEBI’s management and processing of livestock data. The post holder will work as a closely integrated member of the SEBI-Livestock team to ensure that the team’s deliverables are met and that the scope of activities is clear both internally and externally.  With support of senior SEBI management he or she will be encouraged to build a team of professionals to source, collect, collate review and summarise international data on livestock health and productivity. He/she may have line responsibility for other SEBI staff from the outset. A specialist knowledge of and interest in livestock health and production in LMICs and the cross-cutting issues of One Health, zoonotics, environment and gender, will be essential to this post. 

Your skills and attributes for success:

  • Veterinary  / Animal Science First Degree
  • At least 3-5 years professional experience in veterinary epidemiological practice and/or research
  • Experienced quantitative epidemiologist, familiar with disease modelling and current quantitative approaches
  • High level of attention to detail, strong planning and tracking skills
  • Ability to work independently and to have the drive to push projects forward, while ensuring that relevant guidelines and regulations are adhered to
