Yorkshire Regional Network Lead

STEM Learning Ltd

A rare and exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced and dynamic regionally based professional to join STEM Learning as the Yorkshire Regional Network Lead on a fixed term 12 month contract.

Through a deep understanding of local need, our Regional Network Leads are integral to the local STEM and school improvement landscape. Their role is to establish and deliver a strategy to support the specific economic, social and educational needs of their regions.

You will have the opportunity to drive forward the engagement of teachers, support staff, schools and colleges with STEM-specific professional development, resources and careers support across and beyond the Yorkshire region. You will lead and help build capability, capacity and reach of a network of delivery partners in the Yorkshire region.

You will work with employers and other regional partners to impact positively on young people’s engagement with and enthusiasm for STEM subjects, contributing to raising aspirations and educational standards, closing the achievement gap between schools and ultimately enabling more young people to pursue STEM-related education and careers.

We are seeking a self-motivated professional with a positive and enthusiastic approach to their work. Your proven track record of engaging with STEM education across a wide range of education settings and business sectors, along with excellent all round communication and influencing skills will enable you to further develop and maintain support for STEM Learning’s programmes in the region. This will be complemented by your deep knowledge of the STEM education and the skills agenda, with an understanding of the specific context, challenges and opportunities in the Yorkshire region. Experience of developing and maintaining effective working relationships with a wide range of stakeholders alongside managing complex projects to budget and deadlines will be the key to your success.

We would welcome applications from the STEM Learning regional network and partner organisations and would consider secondments from other organisations.

This role will be home based with extensive travel across Yorkshire.
