The Opportunity

Working as part of the Academic Administration team, you will assist with administration processes that facilitate the effective running of the online and blended UCFB programmes

About You

The successful candidate will have an undergraduate degree (or equivalent qualification or experience) and have relevant experience in Higher Education Administration.


Providing general administrative support as part of the Academic Administration team:

  1. General office-related and administrative duties to ensure the effective operation of the Academic Team and related teaching activities
  2. Provide an efficient secretariat service to meetings as and when required
  3. Supporting the academic administration team at the other campus
  4. Managing the shared email mailbox; responding to student and staff queries or sign posting to the appropriate services.
  • Co-ordination of the online assessment submission procedures in accordance with the regulations, coordinating and recording examination and assessment marks and ensuring necessary quality assurance processes are followed.
Assisting in the preparation of documentation for internal and external examination boards. Maintain accurate student records with details of supervision, assessments, transfers, suspensions, extensions, withdrawals, submissions and current addresses. Manage student extension and mitigating circumstances applications. Using information systems and preparing marks reports and statistics for internal and external use. Keep Moodle and online methods of communication updated with information relevant to current UCFB students in the UK and overseas. Liaising with VSI in administration matters concerning our shared programmes. Update and monitor student attendance and flag students for non-engagement. Liaising with Student Services in order to support students with additional requirements and students at risk. To work flexibly and responsibly and undertake any other duties relevant to the level of the post, across the Registry, including assisting with induction events and graduation. Manchester-based post holder only – providing cover for reception duties on a rota basis, this will include working on the stadium reception desk, taking messages and directing queries to the correct department.

Additional Information

Working hours: Working hours normally 8.30 am - 5pm but may involve additional and unsocial working hours depending on the nature of the event and occasional travel between campus.

Please note that if you do not have permission to work in the UK, UCFB will not be able to obtain a Certificate of Sponsorship for you to take up this position.  All non EU/EAA candidates must have valid immigration status and/or a UK visa valid for the duration of the contract in order to be considered for this role.

Location: London, Manchester
Salary: £22,000 to £27,000 per annum pro rata, depending upon qualifications and experience (plus a £3000 London Weighting allowance if applicable)
