This is a critical position within the Research Governance, Ethics & Assurance team (RGEA), essential to enable the new team to come together in a cohesive manner. You will maintain oversight of the overall operations of the team, ensuring that appropriate support is provided at every level and across all disciplines within the team (Sponsorship& Ethics: Regulatory & Quality Assurance; Human Tissue Governance; and Risk & Insurance); with due consideration to the needs of  Research Services (RS) and the Joint Research Office (JRO).

You will also have responsibility for identifying development and training needs, both within the team and the training delivered by the team to researchers, where this relates to the conduct of research.

We are looking for someone with proven expertise and experience in project management and the design of dynamic systems and processes; along with a track record in developing and delivering training and mentoring in a clinical environment.

You will need an understanding of the requirements of conducting high-quality academic research and the support services required to promote this; and an understanding of the regulatory and ethical frameworks for the governance of clinical research and research ethics in a non-commercial environment.

Due to the ongoing effects of the pandemic, the team is largely working remotely at present, with opportunities to work on-site where this supports individuals and teams to work effectively. We expect to return to a greater proportion of on-site working whilst exploring opportunities to adopt an optimal blend of on-site and remote working where this supports effective working.

Further particulars, including details of how to apply, can be obtained from the document below.  If you would like to discuss the position, please contact Heather House

Please upload a CV and supporting statement as part of your online application.

Only applications received by no later than 12.00 noon on Tuesday 21 September 2021 will be considered and interviews are planned to be held on Thursday 7 October 2021.
