About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity to join the University College at a key stage in its development. The Academic and Digital Services Librarian role is a great opportunity for a highly motivated, qualified and experienced Librarian to join the Library and Student Services Team in this demanding and rewarding role.

The post-holder will be committed to the continual improvement of services to enrich the student experience, innovative and collaborative in approach, with a positive attitude and excellent communication skills. 

The post-holder will work closely with the Head of Library and Student Services to provide vision and strategic direction in the management of library systems, information services and development of digital capabilities training. They will play a key role in implementing innovation and change within the library ensuring that services delivered are flexible, user-focused, and at the leading edge of best practice within the profession. 

Responsibilities will include the management and maintenance of library systems, the creation of digital learning material and the delivery of information and digital skills training, including student induction.

This is an exciting time to join AECC University College and to contribute to the continued success of the Library and Student Services Team.    

About the Person

To be successful in this role, you need to be adaptable, flexible, proactive and forward thinking with the ability to work independently and as part of the team.

You will also require excellent interpersonal and communication skills and experience in providing excellent library services. You’ll have a positive and enthusiastic approach. Excellent organisational skills with the ability to prioritise and meet deadlines are also essential requirements. You must have a high level of digital competency and be proficient in the use of Microsoft Office packages.
