Join Edinburgh Napier University as an Associate Professor in Quantity Surveying.
The School of Engineering and the Built Environment is seeking to appoint an Associate Professor in Quantity Surveying. The School offers a broad range of undergraduate and postgraduate Quantity Surveying programmes. These include a MSc in Construction Project Management, BSc (Hons) in Quantity Surveying and an equivalent Graduate Apprentice programme. The School has an active research programme in areas of engineering, transportation policy, sustainable energy and construction with funding from research councils, government and industry. Our brand new Trimble Technology Lab provides state-of-the-art tools and technologies for research in architecture, engineering and construction. The School is closely involved with the Construction Scotland Innovation Centre, hosts the Built Environment Exchange (beX) and is partner in the Housing, Construction and Infrastructure Skills Gateway funded by the Edinburgh & South East Scotland City Region Deal.
The successful candidate for this new Associate Professor post in Quantity Surveying shall be expected to lead the development of this expanding teaching and learning portfolio and contribute to the growing international standing of the research.
As Associate Professor, you shall be expected to be an academic leader, capable of delivering high-quality, student-centred teaching and learning, underpinned by research able to support innovation. The discipline specific expertise sought is as follows: building design and technology, construction cost studies, contract procedures and administration, procurement strategy and project management.
