The post

The College wishes to recruit a Postdoctoral Research Fellow to participate in Smart Grids research project. This industry-funded one-year post is available from late October 2021. The successful applicant will research on the effect of renewable integration on power network & assets and a variety of network upgrade solutions to support power flow.

The post will include duties of conducting research, helping supervise PhD students, and liaising with industries for project meetings, reporting writing and developing new research ideas. 

About you

The successful applicant will be able to develop research objectives, projects and proposals; identify sources of research funding and contribute to the process of securing funds and make presentations at conferences and other events.

Applicants will possess a relevant PhD or equivalent qualification/experience in Electrical Power Engineering. The successful applicant will be experienced in High Voltage Power Plant and possess sufficient specialist knowledge in the discipline to develop research programmes and methodologies. The successful applicant will also be able to work collaboratively, supervise the work of others and act as team leader as required. Applicants need to be able to conduct ATP and DigSILENT based simulation studies.
