A customer-driven, director-level IT services, infrastructure and operations leader is required to spearhead the transformation of the technology operations landscape for this leading, research intensive university. We are seeking a senior technology leader who can drive excellence across the engine room of our IT services operations teams.
The University of Leeds are radically transforming our legacy technology stack as we seek to adopt a new service driven approach in IT. This is a senior and highly challenging IT services and infrastructure delivery leadership role. It will have accountability for all IT run and change across IT service and operations at the University. The new CTO will also devise the new operating model which will help us work without barriers, address our significant technology debt, and provide a seamless customer experience of IT services for over 45,000 users.
Take the strategic lead for all aspects of IT services operations run and change. Lead the improvements to ensure we consistently deliver high-quality technology services with a fantastic customer experience.
Devise and deliver a new IT services and operations model which will improve IT responsivity, make IT easier to engage with and remove some of the siloes between our tech disciplines. The CTO will also devise and implement the technology programme which will address our significant technical debt and move us toward the delivery of world-class IT services.
Create an IT service and operations function which is aligned, engaged and collaborative, which incorporates modern ways of working (e.g. Dev/Ops, ITIL) and has a reputation for the consistent, reliable delivery of technology services.
Will have demonstrable experience of successfully driving improvement in IT service, operations and infrastructure provision in a large and complex, customer-driven, technology reliant organisation.
Collaborative in approach and demonstrating the gravitas and a track record of senior-level customer stakeholder engagement. You should have proven experience working with senior stakeholders and promoting customer focus/service.
Tenacious and inspiring; you will be an enthusing people leader. You will have experience of leading, and motivating, large traditional IT teams, and encouraging the adoption of modern IT service and infrastructure approaches like Dev/Ops and ITIL.
