Our Maintenance Team plays a key part in delivering our student experience vision and we are currently recruiting for a resourceful, multi-skilled, general maintenance person to join the team.
The successful candidate would have obtained a recognised building/services related apprenticeship or have attained City and Guilds or applicable NVQ qualifications. You will be multi skilled and be able to demonstrate a good working knowledge within various building disciplines such as plastering, painting, basic carpentry, plumbing and heating, civil works, tiling, glazing, roof repairs and lock repairs but in particular, visual surveys, installation and repair of fire doors.
You will have previous experience in a construction or maintenance environment with an excellent attitude and knowledge toward health and safety and environmental legislation.
This is a key support role which requires excellent communication, planning and problem-solving skills. You will be responsible for all aspects of maintenance across our BU campuses from repairs to refurbishment works, upgrades and new work within prestigious University buildings. A highly flexible, proactive attitude is essential to meet the demands of the University environment.

This position is available part-time for 14.5 hours per week on a Thursday between the hours of 07:30-16:00 and Friday between the hours of 07:30-15:30.
This position does not meet the eligibility requirements for sponsorship under the Skilled Worker Route within the UK Visa and Immigration service’s Points Based System. Therefore, BU will not be able to sponsor individuals who require permission to work to carry out this position.
