Warwick Employment Group is a global family of specialist recruitment-oriented services, developed by the education sector, for the sector. Owned by the University of Warwick we provide services to support the education community, through: local and international job boards, executive search and temporary staffing solutions. We are looking to strengthen our dedicated Operations and Compliance Team with a Compliance Officer.
This exciting role will provide a range of varied challenges due to the large number of services provided by Warwick Employment Group and the diverse legislative frameworks we must work within. The Compliance and Operations Team work closely together and will support you in learning about these unique requirements.
As a Compliance Officer you will play a key role in ensuring that our processes, software and websites support our businesses’ compliance with relevant legislation and operational best practice. You will be responsible for researching and summarising legislation for the UK and new overseas markets and for developing reports and audits to ensure compliance with relevant legislation. You will develop new processes for the recruitment teams at Warwick and across our franchise network that are clear and logical for users while improving legal compliance. You will support with internal audits of our ISO 9001 certification, ensuring staff are following our processes correctly. You will act as a ‘Super User’ for our system; understanding how it works and where new requirements will fit in while also being able to clearly explain these concepts and processes to others. You will maintain and develop our standard compliance monitoring processes using Microsoft Excel. The role will also include day-to-day line management responsibilities in the Compliance Team which will involve holding weekly catch ups, ensuring policies and processes are followed, setting weekly priorities and objectives in liaison with the Senior Compliance Officer. As part of this role you will act as the first escalation point for queries that the Compliance Assistant is unable to resolve.
You will have a logical approach to problem solving, good communication skills with the ability to explain processes and legislation to others, as well as excellent attention to detail. Experience of researching and interpreting legislation and of writing processes is desirable.
