Location: Imperial College Charing Cross campus with requirement to work across other sites and offices as appropriate for the role.

Job Summary

Are you a healthcare professional with an interest in medical education? Come work with us! Imperial College School of Medicine wants to improve its quality assurance model to evaluate clinical placements in a primary care setting. We are seeking two health care professionals, with an interest in education quality to work with us part of an effective and cohesive academic and professional services team.

Duties and responsibilities

You will review our existing Quality Assurance cycles for Primary and Secondary Care clinical placements and evaluate potential improvements against good practice and desired outcomes. This will include developing and maintaining project documentation and appropriate records to demonstrate, deliver and evaluate against agreed project aims and outcomes. To achieve this you will need to communicate effectively with a range of partners, including our students, colleagues within the Department of Primary Care, HEE Training Hub, Primary Care Network and senior medical school faculty. Where appropriate, we will support you to contribute to the wider disciplinary literature on medical education.

Additionally, you will contribute to teaching activity on the MBBS programme which will be commensurate with your clinical skills and experience.

Essential requirements

Applicants will have strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work collaboratively and build effective working relationships with people operating at different levels across the organisation. Other key attributes include:

  • Registered healthcare professionals with experience of delivering clinical education
  • Experience of course evaluation, critical enquiry and contribution to educational research
  • An understanding of relevant educational theory and good practice relating to student learning, teaching, assessment and course design in Medical Education
  • Possess excellent project management skills and are proficient in balancing multiple workflows in a multidisciplinary environment.
  • An ability to use a variety of software to plan, evaluate and present data with clarity and accuracy

This is a 1-year fixed term role. Two roles are advertised, and candidates should state a preference, if they have one between being selected for Phase One and Three.
