To support and enable this we are embarking on a range of transformational changes which underpin our Campus 2025 and Digital Strategies. This is an exciting time for the University and we are now looking to enhance our capabilities in Information Services with the appointment of a Digital Solutions Manager.
This is a key appointment for the University, reporting to the Information Services Director and, accountable for driving forward our digital change ambitions, leading a functional area responsible for the development, integration and support of all digital software and data solutions. To be successful in the role you will have strong project management and service management life cycle experience and be able to apply best practice of both of these disciplines in a flexible and pragmatic way to ensure the delivery of high quality solutions and services to both our Professional and Academic Service colleagues.
The successful candidate will work as part of the IS leadership team to develop and implement improvements in IS strategy, policy, processes and governance and the development of service measures to ensure that the IS team continues to deliver innovative, high quality, cost effective business solutions.
People and budget management experience is also required to lead this function successfully, as are strong stakeholder management, vendor management and communication skills.
Some hands-on experience of software development using some of the following MS Visual Basic, Java Script, MS SQL, Web applications, database applications including Oracle, Oracle Discoverer, MS SQL Server, MS Access would be valuable but not essential.
The selection process will include application sifting against a set of criteria, interviews and an assessment exercise.
Welsh Language skills are desirable for this role.
