We are looking for an exceptionally motivated researcher to take up a fully funded 4-year postdoctoral position in high-throughput screening of cell-free protein synthesis reactions, as part of the UKRI Future Leaders Fellowship ‘Self-sustaining cell-free systems’ led by Dr. Laohakunakorn.
The successful candidate will conduct cutting edge research in combining machine learning and high throughput screening, in the context of improving the performance of cell-free protein synthesis reactions. The candidate will develop machine learning algorithms to guide a combinatorically difficult screening problem, implement the experimental screening pipeline on the world-class lab automation facilities in the Edinburgh Genome Foundry, and use the combination to drive performance improvements in a key synthetic biological system. The project will equip the candidate with sought-after skills for a successful future career.
