Full time starting salary is normally in the range £23,699 to £25,458, with potential progression once in post to £29,471 

We are looking to appoint a number of Senior Education Support Administrators to join one of the diverse and exceptional Professional Services teams based within the Colleges in the University. The role is based on the vibrant and historic University of Birmingham campus and the University is currently considering opportunities for different types of flexible working.

Working closely with a wide group of people including managers, academic staff and students to deliver the annual cycle of teaching and learning related activity, the post holder will provide high-level administrative support across all teaching and learning related activity.

The role requires a strong focus on delivering excellent customer service within tight deadlines, through professional interactions with a wide variety of stakeholders and a high level of expertise with systems and data analysis is required.  

Providing leadership and guidance to team members is a key part of the role and use of initiative and an ability to identify areas for continuous improvement is actively encouraged.   

The role holder will need to work flexibly to ensure peak periods are accommodated and be willing to adapt to the changing demands of this exciting and fast-paced environment.

The ideal candidate should be educated to at least A Level standard or equivalent and have experience of working in an administrative role within a customer service-based environment. 

They should also demonstrate: 

  • Ability to deal with confidential and sensitive data in accordance with appropriate legislation.
  • Excellent IT skills, including word-processing, databases, spreadsheets and bespoke system use.
  • Experience of operating effectively and efficiently in a busy multifunctional environment.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • A high degree of resourcefulness e.g. the ability to transfer existing knowledge to new situations to formulate a solution to a problem.
  • Able to ensure accuracy, even when performing routine tasks and demonstrate attention to detail.
