As a key member of the HR Department’s senior team and a subject matter expert, you will be responsible for providing strategic leadership for the delivery of organisation and people development to ensure we meet the University’s strategic objective to bring Professional Development and Leadership & Management under one umbrella.
You will support the HR Director (HRD) in the development and delivery of the University people strategies and within this, you will be responsible for developing an Organisation/People Development Strategy to align with our corporate objectives and, therefore, the ability to analyse complex data and situations to generate concise evaluations and opinions is vital. You will use these skills to work effectively at both the strategic and operational level, making you a key player between the two and securing the successful implementation of the new strategy.
You will also support the HR Director and Deputy HR Director in the implementation of the transformational change programme, in particular ensuring that working practices and processes in your key delivery areas support the delivery of service excellence. Therefore, it is important that you have experience of successfully implementing change with demonstrable positive outcomes. Your interpersonal skills and ability to negotiate, influence, and motivate others are vital here to promote an ethos of teamwork and continuous improvement. You will work with other members of the senior team to ensure you strive for excellence within your area.
You will already be an experienced collaborator with the capability to grow internal and external relationships at all levels across the University; and as an engaging communicator, you will be confident to establish effective working relationships and communicate in a range of formal and informal settings.
As a subject matter expert, you will use your relevant best practice knowledge alongside experience of operating in leadership and management teams to drive performance. You will drive forward excellence with your highly developed leadership skills, encouraging your team members to focus on customer experience and taking pride in their work whilst fostering a positive culture. You will be a role model that pioneers a positive and supportive culture that excels the university values.
