To support with the provision of UPP’s student experience offer at Reading and UPP’s other partnership sites nationally. Working with the student experience team to deliver national initiatives throughout the year that build community and support the student journey. At Reading, an enhanced programme of activity is delivered through a residence life programme. The role will support the running of this programme, managing student staff, monitoring engagement metrics, and gathering student feedback.

Roles and Responsibilities


  • Attending operational site meetings to update on student experience activity
  • Producing regular reports on progress and contributing to operational, partnership and other reports as requested
  • Recording and monitoring engagement metrics, adjusting programme planning when necessary
  • Representing student experience at university meetings and forums
  • Raising purchase orders and goods receipting


  • Plan and deliver a termly events programme calendar
  • Work in partnership with UPP site team and university stakeholders including Student Services and the Student Union to deliver the programme
  • Monitor and review the programme budget
  • Recruit, train and manage student reps. Supporting them to ensure the programme remains student led
  • Ensure all activity is compliant with Health, Safety and Environmental policies
  • Coordinate the use of communal spaces, working with the site team and key stakeholders
  • Share best practice from across UPP and the wider sector in relation to student experience delivery


  • Promote programme activity to students using appropriate channels
  • Manage home at halls social media platforms
  • Update the home at halls app regularly with events, news articles and notifications
  • Design and produce digital and physical marketing material within the home at halls brand guidelines


  • Gather regular student feedback to inform programme content
  • Promote the UPP Customer Satisfaction Survey

Relationship Management

  • Maintain strong working relationships with UPP site team and university stakeholders
  • Establish clear communication channels with UPP site team and university stakeholders to promote and coordinate hall activity


  • Support the wider marketing and communications function where required on other key corporate initiatives
  • Take an active role in team planning of national student experience initiatives
  • Support with delivery of national initiatives
  • Support with delivering student experience training
  • Promote programme activity to prospective and new students when required e.g. Open Days, Welcome Talks etc.
  • This role will include evening and weekend working during term time
