Faculty Position in Global Health (Rank Open)

The Global Health program at Duke Kunshan University (DKU) is seeking candidates for a full-time, tenure-track position. Appointment will be assistant, associate or full professor rank depending on the qualification and experience. Positions could be in the area of environmental health, health systems and policy, health economics, biostatistics, infectious disease, or other fields relevant to global health. This position is expected to start approximately in fall 2022. Under the umbrella of Duke University, we offer a Master of Science Degree in Global Health. DKU has a well-established Global Health Research Center with research programs in environmental health, non-communicable diseases, aging, health systems and policy, and emerging infectious diseases. The Research Center is populated by interdisciplinary scholars of Global Health, including DKU faculty in DKU’s graduate and undergraduate programs in Global Health. The Center served as a research hub of the Asia-Pacific Observatory on Health Systems and Policy under the WHO.

Candidates must hold a doctoral degree in an appropriate field. Postdoctoral research/teaching experience is highly desirable. Candidates must demonstrate an ability to conduct outstanding independent research and be an excellent teacher (or show promise for excellent teaching and mentoring). The official working language at DKU is English (Mandarin proficiency is desirable but not required). Candidates, whose research and/or teaching are interdisciplinary are strongly encouraged to apply. They will have the opportunity to mentor DKU students as well as collaborations with colleagues from Duke University in the USA and Duke-NUS Medical School in Singapore.

We request from all applicants curriculum vitae, a research statement, a teaching statement, and the name and contact information for three references. These materials should be submitted through Academic Jobs Online. The application address is here. The search committee also invites and encourages letters of nomination for potential candidates. Priority will be given to applications received by December 9, 2021, and applications will continue to be reviewed until the positions are filled.

DKU is a Sino-US partnership of Duke University, Wuhan University and the Municipality of Kunshan, China. The campus is located 37 miles west of Shanghai in Kunshan, which is connected to Shanghai via a 19-minute high-speed train and a subway-light rail train system. DKU currently offers master degree programs in global health, medical physics, management studies, electrical and computer engineering, and environmental policy. We have launched the four-year undergraduate degree program in fall 2018. DKU provides excellent compensation, benefits and start-up packages, which are comparable to those of U.S. institutions. As an international intellectual community that encourages diversity, openness and creative learning, DKU welcomes outstanding faculty from around the world, who contribute diverse perspectives and experiences to this global learning and research environment. DKU particularly welcomes applications from underrepresented groups and minorities.
