About you: The Department of Architecture and the Built Environment is seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and dynamic lecturer in planning and development. The appointee will be expected to contribute to teaching at undergraduate and postgraduate levels. The appointee will contribute to teaching in the areas of planning law, development management and the implementation of planning. The appointee will also need to recognise the importance of development finance, sustainable design, zero-carbon planning, and professional conduct and ethics.
Other duties will depend upon the background of the appointee. A proven research track record through publication in major conferences and journals, or through practice, is desirable, as well as membership and engagement with the Royal Town Planning Institute.
The appointee will be expected to offer pastoral support to the department’s students, including acting as academic personal tutor where appropriate. Experience of student project and dissertation supervision would also be advantageous.
