The Nuffield Department of Population Health (NDPH) contains world-renowned population health research groups and provides an excellent environment for multi-disciplinary research and teaching. The department runs courses in Public Health, Global Health, Ethics and Law and Medical Sociology and offers student placements in Population Health research in preclinical and clinical courses, as well as helping to deliver courses in Evidence Based Medicine and Medical Statistics.
We are looking for a Lecturer in Population Health to deliver across the curricula of preclinical, clinical and graduate entry medical courses. You will lecture, tutor, and supervise undergraduate and postgraduate students, producing lecture notes, course materials, reading lists and reference guides. You will also assist with monitoring the quality of learning & teaching methods employed in the clinical specialty course, and implement changes to improve the quality of the learning as necessary and engage in assessment and University examining. Additionally you will modify course design, content, or delivery and propose changes to regulations as appropriate.
To be considered for this role you will have relevant Ph.D/D.Phil with post-qualification teaching and research experience. You will need significant research experience in a population health related field. Additionally you will have experience of working in service or academic population health in the UK, experience of university teaching and excellent oral communication and teaching skills
The position is part time (up to 18.75 hours /50% FTE) and fixed term for two years.
