About the role
This teaching and research post based in Leicester, UK, will contribute to the teaching associated with the University of Leicester (UoL), Chongqing Medical University (CQMU) Joint Educational Programme (JEP) and will conduct research in the Department of Cardiovascular Sciences.
The teaching responsibilities of the post will include the development and delivery of a final-year, undergraduate module for the UoL BSc in Clinical Sciences in the School of Biological Sciences in the general areas of precision medicine, translational medicine or public-health associated with renal sciences. The post-holder will also contribute to the development and delivery of one programme in a suite of new clinical MSc programmes in subjects similar to those above. Both of these teaching areas will contribute to the UoL/CQMU JEP and the post-holder will also act as a first-reserve educator for faculty flying from UoL to teach at CQMU in the People’s Republic of China (PRC). Any teaching in PRC will be for a maximum of 4 weeks per year and will only be necessary should the regular flying faculty become unavailable due to illness, parental leave etc.
Renal Science research responsibilities (see full job summary for details) will be conducted in Leicester, UK and the exploration of collaborative opportunities with CQMU will be encouraged. The post holder will report to the Head of Department of Cardiovascular Sciences for research and to the Director of International Teaching Partnerships (China) in the UoL College of Life Sciences for teaching activities. Appointees will also be affiliated to the School of Biological Sciences.
