Location: The post is based on Singleton Campus with some occasional work from the Bay Campus. We are currently home-working due to the COVID-19 pandemic, however, and some elements of this may be retained, moving forward.

The post holder will be part of a high-ranking Employability team, providing quality consultancy and services to a wide-range of target markets, including students, graduates, staff and graduate recruiters.

The postholder will take operational responsibility for all SEA marketing and communications, reporting to the Head of SEA and liaising frequently with SEA and wider University stakeholders. The hours of work will be 17.5 hours, worked in a block of 2.5 days or more flexibly, per week.

The main duties of the job are:

  • To be the primary point of contact within the department for all marketing/communications-related activity and be responsible, alongside SEA Management, for devising and implementing an annual SEA Marketing and Communications plan in-line with the University’s strategic aims, scheduling the delivery of appropriate and timely information to all SEA stakeholders throughout each academic year.
  • To identify new outcome-driven SEA marketing opportunities and undertaking various supporting activities e.g. scheduling of multi-channel, predominantly digital, marketing campaigns and the creation of video content; frequently evaluating these activities and reporting, where necessary.
  • To consult with SEA/University colleagues to maintain and improve SEA web content, assuring currency and relevancy to SEA’s target markets.
  • To produce effective publications and hard copy collateral e.g. working alongside the SEA Employer Events Co-ordinator to create the Annual Careers Fair Programme and the Head of SEA to create the Annual SEA Impact Report.
  • To work collaboratively with internal stakeholders, especially marketing and PR teams and Alumni teams e.g. to draft press releases and contribute to university-wide publications and web content, and to promote the Graduate Outcomes Survey.
  • To undertake all ad-hoc media/marketing/communications activities to support SEA staff, where necessary e.g. redesigning PowerPoint presentations and editing images in Photoshop.
