We are looking for a full-time Technician to join our School of Psychology. We are seeking applications from highly motivated candidates who will provide technical support for laboratory and other experimental work in both teaching and research for academic staff, postgraduate and undergraduate students in the School of Psychology. The successful candidate will also ensure the provision of a wide range of services required for the smooth running of teaching and research projects within the school. Previous experience of support and coordination in a Psychology laboratory environment is highly desirable. Health & Safety experience of risk assessment and safe systems of work is expected.
We encourage applications from candidates with experience of software programming and application; experimental script workshops; set-up and co-ordination of specialist experimental equipment such as EEG, TMS and eye-tracking facilities; purchase, maintenance and management of specialist equipment and associated budgets; and oversight of health and safety risk assessments in laboratory areas. Knowledge and experience in using scientific equipment is essential along with an understanding of maintenance and servicing schedules.
