Are you passionate about Aerospace Engineering?

We are looking for a Senior Lead Engineer who will coordinate and guide a multifunctional team to deliver our portfolio of projects and drive growth within the sector. You will nurture and develop relationships with key partners and influencers all the while maintaining positive engagement and carrying out critical decision making.

Working closely with the Research Director and the rest of the leadership team you will help set the research agenda for the Centre, ensuring it is aligned with the wider AMRC group strategy.

You will be primarily responsible for providing professional leadership and direction. Here at the AMRC we encourage people to challenge and explore ideas and emerging technologies. We want you to excel by sharing your own knowledge and advice with less experienced members of the team.

We provide an exciting and dynamic environment, and you will have the opportunity to represent the Centre in a variety of external settings, including government platforms, key industrial forums, lobby groups and advisory boards. This is an outstanding chance to lead programmes of work that will carry strategic importance to the AMRC ensuring we meet our goals and thrive within the Aerospace sector.

You will have:

  • A good Honours degree.
  • A strong background of working within the aerospace sector, ideally evidencing a deep-rooted network of contacts at key stakeholder and decision maker level.
  • The ability to undertake industrial manufacturing sector capability gap analysis and align technical capability strategic development plans to meet these needs.
  • The qualities required to build relationships, inspire confidence, and communicate effectively and directly with a wide range of audiences.
  • Experience of working with translation research and development organisations is highly desirable.
