The recently-formed International Recruitment, Partnerships and Mobility (IRPM) team makes up part of the External Relations Directorate. The team is growing in-line with the University’s ambitious new strategy to rapidly expand its potential to generate new income streams and develop substantive global partnerships aligned to the emergent new University Strategy. The IRPM team is tasked with increasing the visibility of the University to global audiences. The University has significant geographical reach and prides itself on the depth of these relationships. As part of the Russell Group we attract significant interest and as we grow in size and stature, we will need to manage this effectively.
This new role is to support our growth in this area, working alongside the Global Partnerships Team and the Director of International, Partnerships and Mobility to develop our Strategic Relationships. This role will focus on CITY College, University of York Europe Campus, a new and exciting strategic relationship which will extend well beyond validation into joint research, mobility opportunities and more.
The Strategic Relationships Officer will play a key role in working across the institution to bring together academic expertise and professional support appropriate for each relationship.
You will work closely with colleagues in the Academic Support Office, who will manage the validation aspects of the relationships, while focussing on continuous improvement on processes and planning across each relationship.
Skills, Experience & Qualification needed
A good honours degree or equivalent experience
Knowledge and skills
Excellent problem-solving skills
High-levels of customer service with a ‘can-do’ approach to workload management
A strong desire to provide high-quality reports, based on data analysis.
Ability to be self-reliant and be able handle competing demands and a complex workload
Meticulous organisation and administrative abilities.

A flexible attitude to working hours with some work falling outside of core hours, including some international travel as appropriate
A passion for creating successful and meaningful relationships

Strong IT Skills – able to use Google mail, Google calendar, Google docs, MS Word, MS Excel and quickly learn new/complex systems
Able to communicate effectively with multiple individuals at different levels, with different perspectives
Able to form positive working relationships with colleagues/ external contacts
A high degree of attention to detail
Significant project management experience, working with staff to deliver multiple objectives
Delivering projects successfully in a changing and high-pressured environment
Delivering/co-ordinating a high-quality service to a range of internal customers
