As a Lecturer in Pharmacology and Physiology you will contribute both to the Clinical Sciences BSc and the MPharm programme. Your research in pharmacology and physiology should bring in expertise in pre-clinical in vivo modelling of human disease in rodents. You will be an enthusiastic teacher, with an academic background appropriate to research-informed medical sciences education and the ability and passion to teach from foundation level up to masters level. Areas of teaching will include the physiology and pharmacology of gastrointestinal and endocrine systems at all undergraduate levels. You will work with colleagues to ensure excellent delivery of learning, teaching, assessment and student support.

Your scholarship interests will align with one of the Faculty of Life Sciences Research Themes: Life course (from cells to systems); Health, Society and place; the interface between chemistry biology and materials; computation and big data science. You will also have the opportunity to be housed in one of our flagship research institutes at the School of Pharmacy and Medical Sciences; the Institute of Cancer Therapeutics and the Centre for Pharmaceutical Engineering.

The post holder will join a truly innovative School of Pharmacy and Medical Sciences, with a fully integrated and award winning Pharmacy degree programme delivered using Team-based Learning in addition to a nationally recognised Clinical Sciences degree programme which attracts students from a widening participation background. Therefore you will have a commitment to our widening participation agenda to enable all students to achieve their potential.

The post holder will have the opportunity to supervise undergraduate and postgraduate students undertaking project work and to participate in research (or development) activities in the School.

Please note this post is fixed term for 36 months.

Starting salary is dependent on experience and qualifications.
