Job Summary

The Institute of Global Health Innovation (IGHI) is one of Imperial College London’s seven Global Institutes. The Institute aims to develop cutting edge solutions to the challenges faced by healthcare systems and to elicit transformational improvement in the quality and equity of patient care and population health and wellbeing.

IGHI comprises of over 200 staff, with research groups focusing on global health policy, technological innovation, medical robotics, healthcare design, education and patient safety. The post holder will deliver the communications and engagements across these areas to ensure timely and robust outputs to influence national and international policy. In doing so the post holder will play a pivotal role in developing IGHI’s reputation as a leading and unique research entity in the international global health arena.

Duties and responsibilities

You will be expected to deliver inspiring and engaging events and content that promote the work of the Institute and its pioneering people and will be responsible for creating impactful and novel communications that showcase the Institute’s achievements and ensure visibility to key stakeholders and funders. You will manage multiple internal and external channels including three websites, six social media channels, and two newsletters to effectively engage our existing audience and help reach new ones. In doing so you will play a vital role in helping to build IGHI’s reputation as a world-leading Institute in global health research, education and policy.

Essential requirements

You should hold a postgraduate qualification in Communications, Media or Marketing, or equivalent professional experience. You will be expected to have strong communication skills and a passion for healthcare, with a creative mind, flare for writing and exceptional organisational skills. You will be experienced in writing across multiple communications mediums, developing impactful content for social media and planning and delivering a range of events. You will be confident working independently and part of a team with excellent interpersonal skills to develop good working relationships with stakeholders to understand their needs and to ensure the delivery of an excellent product.   

Further Information

This post is offered on a full time and fixed-term basis for 1 year and based at the St. Mary’s Campus (Paddington). You will also be expected to travel to South Kensington Campus as required.
