Education Training and Events Executive (Fixed term contract for one year)
Central London with hybrid working offered
Salary £30k (plus generous benefits package)
Are you an ambitious, hardworking and enthusiastic events professional looking for a fast moving role full of challenges and opportunities to grow and learn? We’re currently working from home, but we’re usually based in central London and support hybrid working.
We’re looking for two new people to join our welcoming Events team. If you have a keen eye for detail and a passion for event management, with excellent customer service skills, then this is the opportunity for you. Both roles will be key members of a close-knit, dynamic team who are in charge of running a busy calendar of online and face to face events for UK optometrists – the eye care professionals who look after the health of the nation’s vision.
You will work on all elements of running an event, so this is a great place to hone your skills and learn new ways of working. They are varied roles that require you to use your initiative and manage multiple tasks and priorities.
We’re looking for candidates with proven experience of planning and delivering a range of online and physical events and of developing and delivering improvements. You will have excellent time management and organisational skills, and we’ve already mentioned that keen eye for detail – but we say it again because it’s a must for this role! If you have a proactive and hardworking approach, coupled with event management systems experience, strong IT, customer focus and communication skills, then this is the job for you. This is a great opportunity for someone looking to progress their career in events.
We are recruiting for two positions within the Events team. The Events Executive role will lead a series of continuing professional development events for members which take place in the evening, both online and in person across the UK. You will also work with the whole team to deliver our larger events including the annual conference and prestigious Diploma ceremony.
The Education Training and Events Executive will work closely with the Education team to plan and deliver a range of events for different audiences including assessor, examiner and supervisor training; a series of virtual Hospital Eye Service (HES) workshops; student presentations and webinars; This role will also work one day a week within the Events team to assist with the co-ordination of continuing professional development events for members.
