This is a full-time permanent post. The standard hours of work are Monday to Thursday 09:00 - 17:30 and Friday 9:00 - 16:30.
This is an exciting opportunity to join Warwick University’s successful team of Academic Support Librarians. We work directly with academic departments to deliver on teaching, learning and research strategies. This year we have worked closely with colleagues to meet the challenges of providing a more virtual teaching and learning offer.
The team is held in high regard across the institution and has attracted University staff awards for its work in partnership with both academic colleagues and students to enhance the student learning experience.
You will work with colleagues across the institution to develop new and distinctive ways of supporting students and academic colleagues with their information needs, to continue to embed information research skills into the curriculum (through initiatives such as the ‘Student as Researcher’ programme and co-creation approaches) and to support activities to decolonise and diversify our collections.
The postholder will have liaison responsibility for the Law and Economics departments, and will also provide support for Warwick Business School.
You will have the opportunity to develop as a professional and we encourage engagement in a wide range of CPD opportunities, including accreditation of the HEA and a variety of cross-campus activities to develop your practice and pedagogical knowledge.
This is a full time, permanent post suitable for an enthusiastic and self-motivated individual with excellent communication and relationship building skills, along with the ability to confidently teach effective, embedded information literacy skills to both large and small groups in either face-to-face or virtual environments. The successful candidate will be educated to degree level or equivalent, will be in possession of (or working towards) a recognised postgraduate qualification in librarianship or information management (or equivalent) and will have relevant experience in an academic or specialist information service setting.
This is a truly exceptional opportunity. If you want to find out more you are encouraged to contact Karen Jackson, Academic Support Manager (Teaching & Learning) via firstname.lastname@example.org for an informal conversation.
Interview Date: 19 August 2021.
