The Earlham Institute (EI) is looking for a highly motivated and dedicated individual to lead a team of scientists delivering molecular diagnostics for COVID-19 testing.
The laboratory was established at EI in partnership with Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital to support asymptomatic testing of NHS staff across Norfolk and Waveney.
The Molecular Diagnostics (COVID-19) Team Leader will oversee all aspects of the day-to-day management of the molecular diagnostics laboratory, including operational workflows, training, quality assurance, and health and safety.
The ideal candidate:
Candidates should hold a degree in a relevant subject (e.g. microbiology, infectious disease or molecular biology) or possess equivalent experience. Previous experience in leadership roles in a laboratory environment and fluency in molecular biology techniques are essential.
Salary on appointment will be within the range £41,193 to £50,448 per annum depending on qualifications and experience. This is a full-time post funded until the 31st of March, 2022 in the first instance. Willingness to work early/late shifts and/or weekends is essential.
