We seek applications for a Postdoctoral Research Associate to pursue original research in the characterisation of exoplanets and brown dwarfs. The successful candidate will join the research group led by Professor Beth Biller at the Institute for Astronomy (IfA) at the University of Edinburgh.
The research goal of this position is to further understand the atmospheres, physical properties, and demographics of directly imaged giant planets and brown dwarfs, with an aim to extend the same direct imaging techniques to lower mass, cooler planets. The PDRA will work with Professor Beth Biller to analyse and interpret photometric variability and spectroscopic data for brown dwarfs and directly imaged exoplanets. Depending on interests, there will be the opportunity to work with JWST Early Release Science data as well as to lead future large-telescope observational projects.
