The Butler and his team look after the College’s Senior Common Rooms (those rooms used by the Fellows) and are responsible for the provision of excellent services and presentation to members and guests using them.
The team also are involved in the management of the College’s fine wine cellar and assist in choosing wines for events and dining. The Butler’s Assistant can expect to learn a great deal about fine wines in this role; there may even be an opportunity to take a wines and spirits course to further your learning and role.
Are you passionate about delivering the best possible food and beverage service? We are looking for an enthusiastic, reliable person with a flexible approach to work. Previous experience of dealing with the public in a customer service role would be advantageous, although training will be given in serving silver-service meals and drinks, including fine-dining dinners, taking charge of small events, and cleaning and setting up food and beverage areas in the College.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
This is a permanent, full-time role of 39 hours per week on a rota basis, including weekends, evenings and possibly some split-shift working when required.
The salary is £19,834 per annum (equivalent to £9.78 per hour).
