The School of Economics at the University of Bristol is seeking to fill several academic posts with high calibre staff to expand the school’s academic profile in all fields in line with growth of our undergraduate and postgraduate programmes. We are recruiting on our Teaching and Scholarship pathway (Education focused pathway 3).
The school is ranked 6th among all UK Economics Departments for research excellence (REF 2014), hosted in one of the Russel Group elite research intensive universities.
What will you be doing?
The post-holders will be engaged in scholarship teaching and administration. Beside teaching, at either undergraduate or postgraduate level, you will supervise dissertation students, act as a personal tutor and co-supervise research students. You will be expected to take on an administration role appropriate to the level of appointment. The teaching focused role (pathway 3) will take the lead in developing and delivering new education related initiatives.
You should apply if you hold the following
A PhD in Economics or a related discipline. Ability to teach across undergraduate and postgraduate programmes; demonstrable experience of delivering high quality lectures and seminars in a university context; evidence of the ability to carry out academic administrative duties effectively; excellent written and oral communication skills. Enthusiasm to innovate and lead on educational initiatives; experience of successful curriculum design or re-design; a recognised higher education teaching qualification.
