To achieve York St John University’s Strategy 2026 a progressive operating model underpinned by a distributed leadership ethos has been implemented within our five School and YSJ London structure. We have recruited a number of Associate Head/Deans to join the School Academic Leadership Teams (SALT) within each School in York and we are delighted to now be recruiting for a new Associate Head/Dean for our York St John (YSJ) London Campus.
YSJ London opened in 2019 and offers a range of Postgraduate Taught programmes and Apprenticeships in the disciplines of Business and Computer Science. We have 700 Master’s students and Apprentices and are set to grow our portfolio further over the next few years to attract 1000 learners. The campus is situated in a self-contained, five storey building right in the heart of central London with a contemporary and innovative environment.
As Associate Director (Academic) you will be the academic lead at YSJ London for defined disciplines within the campus and will be accountable to the Director for the long-term strategic development and operational success of the relevant programmes and courses. The Director of YSJ London, Louise Donaghy, reports into the Pro Vice Chancellor for Research and Knowledge Transfer, Professor Rob Mortimer, is part of the university’s Senior Leadership Team (SLT) and works closely with the Head/Dean of each school in York.
As an active part of the campus Senior Academic Leadership Team (SALT), you will be instrumental in building a culture of student achievement, innovation, research, and scholarship; enabling academic colleagues to thrive and develop within a supportive, collegiate and academically ambitious environment.
In the immediate term, you will be involved in the continued development and implementation of the distributed leadership model and, with SALT colleagues, will be involved in shaping the London Campus performance outcomes, measures of success and strategic plan.
As a current senior lecturer, you will bring depth and enthusiasm for your subject and a commitment to the future sustainability of our London Campus, with experience of inspiring and empowering others.

|Salary:||£51,800 to £61,818 per annum (plus London weighing) - Grade 9 with remission from teaching contract up to 50%|
