This is an exciting opportunity to join UCL as a Lecturer or Associate Professor, working in the Faculty of Life Sciences, which is one of the largest in UCL with over 900 staff and over 3,500 students and a diverse portfolio of research and teaching.
The Department of Neuroscience, Physiology and Pharmacology (NPP) is internationally-renowned for its fundamental research that incorporates cellular, molecular and systems-based studies of neurotransmitter receptors and ion channels, neurophysiology, neural networks, and associated signalling pathways.
We are seeking outstanding candidates for three new Lecturer/Associate Professor roles to be held in the Research Department of Neuroscience, Physiology and Pharmacology (NPP), with at least one appointment to be made at the Lecturer level. All candidates with strong track records in neuroscience, physiology and/or pharmacology are encouraged to apply, but we are particularly interested in strengthening the NPP leading position in computational neuroscience and neuropharmacology of metabolic and cardiovascular disease.
Teaching undergraduates and postgraduates in the fields of Neuroscience, Physiology and Pharmacology is an essential part of the post.
The successful candidates must hold a PhD in neuroscience, physiology or pharmacology and should show a clear promise of research and teaching excellence in these disciplines and sufficient vision to build and maintain an internationally competitive research programme.
The successful candidates will be committed to lead interdisciplinary research in a multidisciplinary environment, have enthusiasm for teaching and the determination to make a positive impact as part of a wider UCL academic community.
