An exciting opportunity has arisen to support the research of the current Head of Department’s research group within synthetic organic chemistry at the University Sheffield. Professor Jones’ interests lies predominately in organic synthesis, spanning areas of asymmetric synthesis through to the interface of chemical biology. The work will involve supporting ongoing research in these broad areas, with potential to test new ideas, ideal for those interested in developing their own independent research career.
You will be a highly motivated synthetic organic research scientist who is able to work independently and be a strong team player. You will have experience in the supervision of PhD and/or MChem students. The ability to write high-quality first-draft scientific papers and give excellent oral presentations at international conferences is important.
