Background

As the university embarks on a new Academic year, and a return to Campus for staff and students, providing high quality HR and Recruitment services to colleagues and prospective candidates is more important than ever.

In response to these challenges, and to ensure we can continue to provide the highest levels of service to colleagues, we are bringing together the HR Advisory, Recruitment and Employee Administration functions, to form a central, People Services Team.

Responsibilities

This new team will be led by the Head of People Services, and in addition to supporting the wider HR agenda, the role holder as a member of the Senior HR Team, will be responsible for delivering these critical services through a dedicated team of HR professionals.

This is an exciting opportunity for the successful postholder in this new role to help shape and influence the service design, and ‘ways of working’ for the team from the start of a positive new strategic direction for HR and the wider University.

Person Specification

The successful candidate will be educated to degree level and or have the equivalent professional experience. They will hold Chartered Membership of the CIPD, and will be able to demonstrate:

  • Knowledge and expertise of developing and delivering high quality HR services within a similar, diverse organisation.
  • The ability to manage complex, employment related issues across multiple and challenging settings.
  • Highly develop stakeholder management and communication skills; able to work collaboratively with colleagues at all levels.
  • Leadership and management skills, with the ability to create and sustain a cohesive, service orientated team and working environment.
