The Liverpool Clinical Trials Centre (LCTC) have an exciting opportunity to be involved in a trial working in maternal global health. The APT-sepsis trial is seeking a motivated and enthusiastic trial management professional to join our team. APT-Sepsis is cluster randomised controlled trial set in 60 health care facilities across Malawi and Uganda and will evaluate the impact of a programme of education aimed at health care professional. The programme will provide training in good hygiene practice; support the implementation of the World Health Organisation guidelines on infection prevention during pregnancy and birth and encourage regular vital sign monitoring and rapid actions to ensure women with suspected sepsis are given all the correct treatments (FAST-M).

Working with world leading clinicians from across the globe to improve maternal sepsis outcomes, the APT-Sepsis trial manager will be responsible for the day-to day management of the trial in accordance with the protocol and procedures developed with regard to the relevant ethical, regulatory and governance frameworks and the principles of Good Clinical Practice. They will be responsible for all aspects of trial co-ordination to ensure that the study is conducted to the highest scientific and regulatory standards, to time and within budget and will be an important contributor to the LCTC global research portfolio.

Ideally the candidate will have a Degree (or equivalent qualification or relevant professional experience), you will be accountable to the Director of the LCTC, and will work under the supervision of the Senior Trials Manager, who will provide overall line management. Professional development will be supported and appropriate training will be provided to the successful candidate. This post can be conducted working remotely from home (UK based) for those who prefer to be office based, offices for this post are at the University of Liverpool Campus or Alder Hey Institute in the Park. It is expected that successful candidates will be required to travel occasionally to the Liverpool office (if home based) and travel to Malawi, Uganda will be as required.
