We are looking for a talented and highly motivated Research Fellow to support the research activities of the Centre for Diversity Policy Research and Practice. The Centre brings together academic, practitioner and policy expertise to undertake research and develop best practice in the area of equality and diversity in organisations and society. It has carried out a sustained programme of externally funded research focusing on work-life balance, gender issues in the workplace, age equality and consultancy on managing equality and diversity in the workplace. The Centre takes an interdisciplinary approach to its work and collaborates closely with the Business Faculty and the School of Law and it has developed a network of contacts with research users to include policy-makers, employers and trade unions. This post offers an exciting opportunity to become involved in a number of interesting and topical projects and to work with academics and research users.
You will be responsible for leading on/or have significant input to the design and implementation of research activity in CDPRP, and leading on knowledge exchange activities including the content and organisation of workshops, research seminars and other events based on personal scholarship and research. You will be expected to submit proposals for research grants as well as write research papers, journal articles and materials for publication. You will communicate with the research team on current and future research activity requirements, and supervise the work of small groups for example research assistants and PhD students. You will also be expected to undertake administrative duties connected to research activities and to coach and mentor post graduate/PHD students.
