The Particle Physics Department (PPD) at the STFC Rutherford Appleton Laboratory is looking for an outstanding Experimental Particle Physics Research Associate to work on the HL-LHC trigger and data acquisition systems on the CMS experiment.

The PPD CMS group has been prominent on the CMS experiment since the start of the collaboration, leading the design and construction of the CMS electromagnetic endcap calorimeters (ECAL), delivering elements of the Level 1 calorimeter trigger upgrade and now has a focus on the use of FPGAs for the initial data processing components of the HL-LHC upgrades for the Tracker, L1 Trigger and ECAL.
