Lincoln College seeks to appoint an Academic Registrar who is the senior administrator in charge of the College Office under the Senior Tutor.

The post-holder will be responsible for managing the induction of all students admitted to the College so they are officially registered, and are aware of their obligations as members of the College and the range of services and support available to them. They will balance day-to-day student matters with long term planning and will work continually to improve administrative systems.

The Academic Registrar is responsible for overseeing student induction, student data management, and monitoring and tracking student progress. The Academic Registrar supports the Senior Tutor in the organisation of teaching for undergraduates, monitoring the teaching undertaken by or for the College and arranging for payments to be made to external tutors each term. The Academic Registrar is responsible for ensuring that Lincoln students are entered for University Examinations and for liaising with the Student Support Advisor to ensure that special arrangements are in place where required. Other key responsibilities include Academic staff and Fellows administration. The Academic Registrar sets and maintains high standards for the Academic Office team. They keep the Office’s administrative processes under review and implement improvements as required. The Academic Registrar supports the Senior Tutor and Senior Dean by servicing the Senior Tutor’s Committee and Junior Relations Committee. The Academic Registrar is, therefore, at the heart of the College’s operations and enjoys a challenging and varied role. The post brings opportunities to co-operate with colleagues in the other departments of the College and to liaise with colleagues from many departments and sections of the University of Oxford.

The successful applicant will possess skills and experience in a wide range of aspects of academic administration; degree-level education, or equivalent, with evidence of strong analytical skills; proven administrative skills, including committee servicing, and able to prioritise work effectively; the ability to deal confidently with a wide variety of people including Fellows, other College staff, students, University administrators.

Salary will be based on grade 8 of the Oxford University Pay Scale, currently £42,149-50,296 per annum, with the entry point dependent on experience. Benefits include free lunches when on duty, a contributory staff pension scheme and holiday entitlement of 30 days per annum and 8 Bank Holidays.
