We are seeking an experienced Facilities Supervisor to manage our busy estate and facilities team at our University based in Epsom campus. The post is an important and responsible position, and your main duties will include opening and locking of the premises, security, fire prevention, goods in/out and support to the University and its departments as well as managing a team of Facilities Assistants. You will be expected to work as part of the team on a regular shift pattern as well as emergency out of hours on call duties with a paid ‘out of hours’ allowance.
Working with minimum supervision, you will be required to use your initiative, undertake decision making, and handle numerous diverse situations, requests/queries whilst maintaining a positive, professional, and receptive manner. At peak periods the workload, which will come from multiple colleagues will need careful prioritising to ensure deadlines are met in an effective way.
You will have good interpersonal skills as there will be daily contact with staff, students, and the general public. You will also be able to work on your own initiative and be flexible in your approach to work. An awareness of basic IT is essential as is the willingness to become a trained first aid member of staff.
