Working pattern: Part-time, working 21 hours per week

This is an exciting opportunity for a proactive manager with a passion for delivering a high-quality and effective student experience, from application to graduation and beyond. The role provides an opportunity to directly contribute to students’ positive experience of University.

As Learning and Teaching Manager, you will jointly manage a small team of five staff responsible for the delivery our undergraduate and postgraduate administrative support services. The team supports student recruitment, induction, progression, assessment, welfare and training. As manager, you will ensure the team performs at the highest level and that processes and procedures are efficient and fit-for purpose.

As one of the largest departments devoted to this subject area in Europe, and your role will be to ensure we are recognised for providing a student experience of the highest quality.

You will also contribute to the development and implementation of learning and teaching strategies, policies and procedures with an opportunity to contribute to Faculty-wide enhancement projects related to education.

Together with your job-share partner, you will be working alongside passionate and experienced colleagues including the Department Administration Manager, the Directors of Education, Recruitment and Postgraduate Education as well as with other academic staff across the department.

Our ideal candidate will demonstrate evidence of strong management and leadership, excellent communication and time management skills and a commitment to continuous improvement you will provide oversight and leadership for our undergraduate and postgraduate activities.

You will have a good honours degree (or equivalent experience) as well as previous experience working in a professional/managerial role, ideally within a Higher Education setting.

Experience of team leadership and performance management to support the delivery of high-quality customer service within a complex organisation is also essential.

Some weekend working may be required to support our important admissions events.
