Alumni Relations and Events Manager (Maternity Cover)

University of Cambridge - Corpus Christi College

Location: Cambridge
Salary: Competitive salary
Hours: Full Time
Contract Type: Fixed-Term/Contract
Placed On: 3rd December 2021
Closes: 7th February 2022

Corpus Christi College is seeking to appoint a one-year FTC for an Alumni Relations and Events Manager (AREM) to cover a maternity leave period of up to 1 year. This is an exciting moment for anyone wishing to join the Development and Alumni Relations Team at Corpus. The successful applicant will become part of a friendly, close-knit community of Fellows, students and staff, within a beautiful, small historic College, which dates back to 1352.

The annual calendar for this year has been set out by the current post holder, who will provide a thorough handover and training plan. The Alumni Relations and Events Manager is responsible for all alumni relations and fundraising events at Corpus, as well as College projects such as the upcoming celebrations for the fortieth anniversary of the admission of women. The appointed candidate will pick up our busy events programme, promoting and managing each event with Old Members, and liaising with the Domus Bursar, President, Conference and Catering, Master’s Office, and other departments to assure their success. There is a wide range of events including a regular cycle of reunions (such as the Beldam, MacCurdy and Rackham dinners) and other donor circle celebrations, cultivation events, and collaboration with Cambridge University Development and Alumni Relations (CUDAR) and other third parties hosting events in which Corpus is involved.

The Events Manager’s role is an interesting position suited to someone who thrives on working with people, can trouble-shoot on the spot, keeps a calm head and fits in well with the team. The position will be attractive to anyone who has a successful history of organising events and dealing with high profile alumni, who is wanting to experience and offer their services to an exceptional collegiate community

If you are someone who enjoys a busy and demanding workload, are able to manage multiple projects simultaneously, and have a passion for events, this role is for you. A flexible and innovative approach to your work is essential, combined with creative flair and vision, and excellent administration to create a positive impression of Corpus Christi College.
