The Bartlett School of Architecture is a world-leading place to study, teach and research architecture. With over 300 permanent staff, across two state-of-the-art London sites, the school enjoys a rich reputation for cultivating innovative ideas in architecture and is currently ranked global No. 2 by the QS World Ranking by Subject for architecture and the built environment and the top architecture school by the Architects’ Journal AJ100 for the 17th consecutive year.

This is an exciting, new position working within the Schools’ small, fast paced HR team. The role offers a fantastic opportunity to develop experience of managing staff within a newly formed team as well as interacting with a varied and wide range of people. The post will have specific responsibility for overseeing the sizeable monthly payroll function, in conjunction with two HR administrators. In addition, the role will have joint responsibility with the HR & Staffing Manager for overseeing the smooth delivery of the HR function across the School at operational and strategic levels.

As the team covers the full spectrum of activities it is essential that candidates possess sound HR generalist experience with an excellent knowledge of HR/Immigration legislative requirements (e.g. right to work in the UK documentation, Cos and visa restrictions etc.) linking into the payroll focus of the role.

Additionally, the successful candidate will be comfortable using a number of HR systems and spreadsheets on a daily basis as well as providing advice and support in a fast paced, high volume environment. Due to the nature of the role, it is also essential candidates possess outstanding organisational skills with the ability to prioritise competing demands as well having a flexible approach to changing priorities and action as needed.
